President Weah Congratulates France On National Day

Liberia President George Manneh Weah has congratulated the President, Government, and People of France on the occasion marking the observance of the National Day or the Bastille Day of that country on July 14, 2022.

According to a Foreign Ministry release, President Weah extended sincere best wishes to his French counterpart, President Emmanuel Macron, and through him, to the Government and People of the Republic of France, on behalf of the Government and People of Liberia and in his own name.

President Weah said as France celebrates the historic event in the midst of global challenges as the result of the war in Ukraine, Liberia looks forward to closely working with the French government to help in resolving the conflict through diplomacy.

President Weah recalled French’s enormous contributions to Liberia, reiterating that under his administration, the longstanding relations between France and Liberia are very cordial and they are grateful to the French people for their generous support to the government and people of Liberia in empowering Liberians in agriculture, roads connection, sports, and vocational education.

The Liberian Leader furthered that it is in this spirit, that the two countries are exploring new vistas of economic cooperation, especially in small and medium-scale industries to further expand the partnership of both countries.

President Weah prayed that the bilateral cooperation subsisting between both countries will continue to grow from strength to strength for the benefit of the mutual interest in the fields of health, science, and technology.
