President Weah Consoles Japan

President George Manneh Weah has sent a Condolence Message to his counterpart, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Japan, Mr. Fumio Kishida. for the death of Shinzo Abe, former Prime Minister of Japan, who died on Friday, July 8, 2022, at the age of 67 following a shooting at a political event.

 A statement from the Executive Mansion stated that President Weah sent Prime Minister Kishida his sincere condolences on behalf of the government and people of Liberia, as well as in his own name, for the country’s irreparable loss. He also specifically mentioned the deceased family.

The Liberian Leader stated that former Prime Minister Abe would be regarded as one of the wisest leaders of the free world as well as a fervent force and champion for liberty, human rights, liberal democracy, and world peace.

President Weah expressed his sincere hope and prayer that Prime Minister Kishida and the tenacious Japanese people will find solace and courage during this time of national mourning.
