President Weah Describes Role of Journalists as Crucial to Peace and Development

Monrovia- The role of the Liberian media in maintaining the state’s peace, security, and stability has been emphasized once more by Mr. George Manneh Weah, President of the Republic of Liberia. President Weah stated that journalists in Liberia have a very important role to play in the growth of the nation on January 8, 2023, at the Forky Klon Jlaleh Family Fellowship Church, along the Roberts Field High Way.

President Weah welcomed journalists from all walks of life to convey his love and respect for the work they have done and are still doing for the welfare of the nation. The President specifically mentioned the subsequent general and presidential elections in October as a process that journalists should work to safeguard and promote by making sure that what they publish is the whole truth.

“You are the voice of the voiceless, these forthcoming elections are not about me or you. It is about the nation,” President Weah informed journalists.
