RIA, Margibi – Former Liberian football player Prince Opoku Walker has denied claims that he may run in the general elections on October 10, 2023. On Friday, May 26, 2023, Walker arrived back in the nation from the US via Roberts International Airport, at which point he delivered the remark. He stated that his objective is to introduce more Yellow Machines to Liberia in order to increase jobs and enhance the nation’s economy.
As Liberia prepares for elections in October, the CEO of the Prince Walker Group of Companies urged the population to maintain peace and said they shouldn’t let politics cause strife. Walker acknowledged that giving has been his passion, but for people to think that he is involved in it for political gains, is unfortunate.
“As we speak, my Communications officer, Musa Kamara, will be arriving in Liberia today from China after numerous discussions to bring a company to begin operations after the elections.”
When asked about his plans for football, Walker replied that preparations are being made for scouts from Atlanta, Georgia, to travel to Liberia and scout the top players, just as they did on his previous tour.
“Two agents will be coming after the elections to finish the job they started, but I can’t tell you how many players they will be taking because of the caliber of players they will obtain. Due to the quality, when I invited scouts from Europe on my most recent visit, they were able to identify three players.”
Meanwhile, Walker planned to engage in sporting activities in various communities in Montserrado and Grand Bassa under the theme: “Keeping the Peace” as Liberia move to elections on October 10, 2023.
