The Vice Chair for Administration for the People’s Unification Party (PUP) Benjamin K. Massaquoi has officially declared his intention to contest as Representative for District #10 Montserrado County come 2023.
According to the PUP vice chair, the people of District #10 Montserrado County has struggled over the years for proper representation at the level of the House of Representatives as such the District is lacking in terms of developmental activities.
The District #10 representative hopeful expressed that residents of the District have not experienced quality Leadership something he described as an unfortunate situation.
The People’s Unification Party (PUP) presumptive candidate in District # 10 Benjamin K. Massaquoi’s quest to represent the District derives from Leaders representing the District’s inability to provide quality Leadership. He named a Dysfunctional education sector, Poor health, ineffective governance, lack of constant electricity, and safe drinking water among other basic social service delivery are challenges that residents of the District are confronted with.
He mentioned that under his Leadership these challenges will be priorities under a strategic team quick impact Project to respond to emergency situations in the District. He used the occasion to call on residents of the District to be patient and remain focused as the District will experience quick development under his Leadership beginning in 2024, pending the results of the general and Presidential elections.
The representative hopeful made the statement Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at a program marking the award ceremony of who owns the Land tournament organized by the Friends of Benjamin K. Massaquoi on the Old Road. At the award ceremony, there were several prizes awarded to participating communities and individual players and team officials.
The 1st place winner Sophie Community walked away with the amount of twenty thousand Liberian Dollars (LRD$20,000LD) while 2nd place winner Catholic community walked with the amount of ten thousand Liberian Dollars (LRD$10,000LD) and the 3rd place finisher took the took five thousand Liberian Dollars (LRD$5,000.00LD).
During the presentation of the awards, the District #10 representative hopeful Benjamin K. Massaquoi promised to extend the tournament across the District.
