A ”CON ARTIST” WHO DECEIVES THE PUBLIC FOR PERSONAL BENEFITS
Monrovia, Liberia – Representative Richard Koon calls Yekeh Kolubah a “con artist” who is deceiving the public for personal benefit after he was connected to President Boakai’s purported conspiracy to remove Speaker Koffa.
Grand Kru County Electoral District #1’s Cllr. Fonati Koffa, a devoted member of the Coalition for Democratic Change, defeated Representative Koon, the lawmaker from Montserrado County Electoral District #11, in the 55th Legislature’s speakership election.
Representative Richard Koon, Representative Prince Toles of Montserrado County District #8, and President Joseph Boakai were allegedly involved in a plot to oust the Speaker by bribery over the weekend, according to Representative Kolubah, a critical politician from Montserrado County Electoral District #10.
He said, in order to arrange for Cllr. Koffa to be removed, Koon and other members of his bloc had been bought off with $4,500 apiece.
Speaking on Monday’s edition of the program New Liberia on Bana FM, a local radio program in Monrovia, New Liberia show, Koon angrily refuted these accusations, insisting he was unaware of any such plans or bribery schemes.
The legislator stated that he has no plans to remove Speaker Koffa and described his colleague as a “con artist” who spreads incorrect information for his own benefit.
He claimed that the representative for Electoral District #10 was slandering individuals to obtain financial gain. At the same time, Representative Koon called for an impartial investigation into the accusations made by his fellow lawmakers
