Monrovia, Liberia – The Montserrado County electoral district 12 representative candidate for the general elections of 2023 has requested a rerun of the district election due to a number of anomalies that occurred both during and after the voting process.
After the voting process, Richmond S. Anderson reported that he saw certain National Election Commission agents helping some candidates, which he described as regrettable. He added that it is obvious that there was foul play when National Elections Commission Chairperson Davidatta Brown Lansana mentioned that there were enrollees in some Montserrado areas at the results announcement on day two.
Over the weekend, newsmen were informed by Professor Richmond Anderson, a former District 12 representative who held office from 2012 to 2018. In addition, Professor Anderson warned that if the NEC rejects his complaint, he will file a lawsuit with the Supreme Court.
”We saw a case where NEC agents assigned to some of the polling centers were serving as poll watchers for some candidates, which is wrong.”
In addition, Professor Anderson expressed gratitude to the citizens of Montserrado County’s electoral district 12 for casting ballots on election day.
