Sackor Set for Tryout with Mawade Football Academy in Senegal.

Monrovia, Liberia – Rising Liberian football talent Douglas Sackor is set to take a major step forward in his career as he prepares for a 10-day tryout with the prestigious Mawade Football Academy in Dakar, Senegal. Given Sackor’s impressive accomplishments with the Africa New Stars Sports Academy (ANSSA), the possibility could result in a developmental deal with the Senegalese team.

Should the transaction go through, it would be a major turning point in Sackor’s career and pave the way for further professional prospects in West Africa and beyond. Mr. Melvin Panton, President of ANSSA, received the formal invitation to the tryout on Saturday, July 12, 2025.

According to Mawade Football Academy, the trial period is scheduled to begin on July 30, 2025, at their training facilities in Dakar. “We are thrilled about this invitation. It reflects the level of talent and discipline Douglas has shown,” President Panton stated.

ANSSA is appealing to humanitarian organizations, philanthropists, members of the Liberian diaspora, and the general public to assist with travel expenses specifically the cost of airline tickets to Dakar. “This is a life-changing opportunity we don’t want to miss. It could help shape a brighter future for this talented young athlete, not just for his personal growth, but also as an inspiration to others within our academy and community.”

A number of young players’ careers have been significantly shaped by Africa New Stars Sports Academy, which was established to support and develop grassroots football talent in Liberia. The academy continues to advocate for increased investment in youth sports development as a pathway to empowerment and opportunity.

Sackor’s story reflects the aspirations of many young Liberians, who see football as a tool to change communities and lives in addition to being a passion. According to ANSSA, Sackor may seize this fantastic chance if given the proper assistance.

The Africa New Stars Sports Academy is in charge of organizing donations to help fund Douglas Sackor’s trip. Interested parties are urged to get in touch with the academy directly with questions or to give support.
