Monrovia, Liberia – Mr. Upjit Singh Sachdeva (Mr. Jeety) owner and operator of Jetty Rubber LLC in Weala, Margibi County; is currently the new owner of Salala Rubber Corporation or SRC. He has advised local neighbors of the company as well as former staff members to be ready for going back to work. He said, he will effectively reopen the SRC School System and Health Centers in October, therefore signifying the beginning of the employment.

He revealed the information on Friday, Sept 13, 2024 at a mass gathering at the main plant in Weala, Margibi County, attended by previous and present employees of the company. Declaring his will to better workers’ living conditions, Mr. Jeety said they should be ready to work as it will not be business as usual.

Following Mr. Jetty’s revelation, the meeting which was attended by top staff members of SRC and previous employees of the company’s education system as well as Mr. Jetty saw the attendees in a joyful state.

After Socfin Group stopped the company in June and paid workers following industrial action resulting in violence, Mr. Jeety bought the company on August 26, 2024. He reassured former employees to reopning the business this October and fully working with them for the sake of the business and their welfare.

He also vowed to upgrade the health center and the school. Commenting mostly about the school, Mr. Jetty, who started a regular feeding program for children at the SRC Plantation more than two months ago, said he believes in human resource development, capacity building and love for children.

But since his investment in the nation’s rubber industry is generating employment for Liberians, he urged workers’ dedication and support for it. He pointed out that his investment will also help around 850 SRC employees.

Speaking during the conference, SRC Ajith Kumar’s General Manager thanked Mr. Upjit Singh Sachdeva for buying the business and giving hope for SRC once more. He advised employees to consider carefully before making decisions and also to avoid being swept away by bad influences; instead, they should work in the positive direction to enhance their life.

Few of the employees expressed gratitude to Mr. Jetty and his team for deciding to seize control and resume regular activities at the SRC.
