    Sen. Dillon Dedicates Rehab and Integration Facility

    Monrovia, Liberia – Senator Abraham Darius Dillon of Montserrado County has formally opened the Center for Rehabilitation and Reintegration to the Public and has urged the government of Liberia to improve funding for the nation’s metal health illnesses.

    The government of Liberia and private institutions need to secure a rehabilitation center to serve the nation’s at-risk youth, according to Senator Dillon, who also underlined the alarming growth in the number of at-risk youths nationwide.

    According to the Montserrado County senator, the epidemic of drug-addicted teenagers has reached a point where residents must take a comprehensive approach to tackle it in order to save the next generation.

    Given that at-risk youth have the potential to instigate violence in the nation, it is important to manage them carefully; providing financial assistance to them on holidays and other special occasions is not the way to go, the stateman noted referring to it as a regrettable circumstance.

    Senator Dillon informed the public that the Center for Rehabilitation and Reintegration had received the $3,000.00 USD he promised to offer the residents of Montserrado County. He mentioned that the Center is a pilot project which will pave the way for the bigger and National discussion and action in the country. The Montserrado County Lawmaker added that there is a need to attached urgency to the issues of Drugs addition across the country.

    As the first senator to formally inaugurate a rehabilitation facility in post-war Liberia, his rehab center will accommodate about 30 patients. The Cooper Farm Community on the Rehab Road in Paynesville is home to the Center for Rehabilitation and Reintegration.

    The facility in Paynesville was formally opened to the public on Saturday, April 8, 2023. However, Miliett Kangar, the facility’s supervisor, reported that ten patients have already been enrolled and are undergoing therapy there. Madam Kangar mentioned that they have qualified, experienced, and trained counselor psychologist staffs.
