Senator Johnson threatens retaliation if…

Paynesville, Liberia – Several government officials, including Liberia’s Vice President Jowel Howard Taylor, Liberia Maritime Authority Commissioner Lenn Eugene Nagbe, and Monrovia City Mayor Jefferson T. Koijee, have been accused of sending supporters to attack Senator Prince Johnson at his church during service hours.

Senator Johnson vowed to respond with hundreds of his supporters if such action is repeated. It is alleged that a group of yiung people believe to be from the National Patriotic Party Youth League gathered at Senator Johnson’s Christ Chapel of Faith Church in Paynesville early on Sunday, May 21, 2023, disrupting regular church service operations at the building. They were headed by the Secretary General, Jimmy Toby.

The NPP Secretary General claimed that their gathering was a display of their constitutional rights and added that they also went there in response to the senator’s invitation to the public to attend his church in Paynesville for worship, which was extended via social media.

The Nimba County Lawmaker, however, vowed to install a CCTV as a means of protecting himself from the alleged plot against him by the trio, stating that although he has hundreds of his supporters to come to his defense, Liberia does not want to return to the dark days as he called on President George Weah to speak on the matter.

He at the sometime called on Liberia National Police to work in the favor of all Liberians instead of been party police.
