Monrovia, Liberia – The Joint Security has been instructed by Monrovia City Court Stipendiary Magistrate L. Ben Barco to arrest Jenelai Alex Tyler, son of Bomi County Senator Alex Tyler, while she is still alive for not paying a $7,500 auto loan.
Complainant Rannie Baio told the court that on May 30, 2025, defendant Tyler, with criminal intent and purpose, purchased a Ford Explorer from his (Rannie) business entity with the agreement and obligation to pay US$7,500. Since then, defendant Tyler has purposefully put himself in hidding and has failed, refused, and neglected to pay, according to Magistrate Barco’s June 13, 2025 action.
In the Magistrate order, he said, “You are hereby commanded to arrest the living body of Jenelai Alex Tyler, defendant to be identified, who are on the run and to forthwith bring him before the court to answer to the commission of the crimes “Defrauding secured creditor” in violation of the new Penal Law of Liberia.”
The Magistrate further, “In the event the defendant is arrested after official working hours, he should be detained at the nearest police station to be brought before the court the next working day.”
According to the court document, despite the defendant’s refuser to pay his US$7,500 car debt, he (defendant Tyler) is unlawfully, withholding funds that is rightfully belonging to Baio (car owner). However, the defendant’s claimed activity was deemed criminal, illegal, and unlawful by the Monrovia City Court, which also said that it violated Sector 15.57 of the New Penal Law of Liberia.
