Slovak Ambassador Visits Jeety Rubber Factory, SRC

Weala, Margibi County – The Jeety Rubber Factory and the Salala Rubber Corporation (SRC) in Weala, Margibi County, received visits by Slovak Ambassador Martin Podstavet, who is accredited to Liberia and resides in Abuja, Nigeria. He described the companies’ investments as evidence of “Liberia’s positive business climate and a reflection of the country’s growing investment potential.”

Amb. Podstavet inspected every department of the Jeety Rubber Factory, which coagulates raw latex into solid rubber blocks for export, after touring the SRC school, a medical clinic, worker residential camps, and rubber tapping fields.

In addition to owning the SRC, Liberia’s fourth-largest rubber plantation, Jeety Rubber also runs one of the country’s rubber processing plants in Margibi County. Upjit Singh Sachdeva, often known as Jeety, is the Honorary Consul General of Slovakia in Liberia and the owner of both businesses.

He expressed his admiration for the amount of progress Mr. Jeety had made in Liberia. He promised to inform the people and government of Slovakia about Mr. Jeety’s investments and efforts to Liberia.

“Everyone I spoke with described Mr. Jeety as a good man who supports thousands of Liberians. Slovakia does not take lightly the decision to endorse someone as Honorary Consul General. It profoundly signifies exceptional knowledge and well-rounded expertise,” Amb. Podstavet said.

A daily feeding program, the creation of a $10,000 annual district scholarship fund, and the continuous expansion of the firms’ 50-bed facility to include four operating rooms and a separate eye clinic are among initiatives Mr. Jeety carried out. Other projects include regular outreach programs for eye care, sponsorship of specialist treatments for individuals in need of advanced medical care, financial and technical support for Margibi County sports teams, and the provision of a fully equipped ambulance for emergency medical services.
