South Africa – Lone Star of Liberia bid for a 3rd Nations Cup appearance same to be taking a positive direction after coming from 2-0 down in the first half to settle for a draw against South Africa on Friday.
Lyle Foster put South Africa ahead from the spot in the 11th minute after a costly error from goalkeeper Tommy Songo.
He later doubles the Bafana Bafana lead in 22nd minute. The South Africans had couple of chances to have score more, but they were wasteful.
However, Tonia Tisdell reduced the deficit in the 68 minutes less than 15 seconds upon his introduction for Terrance Tisdell.
Another substitute Mohammed Sangare who plays for Accrington Stanley in England League equalize with a long range effort.
Liberia might confirm it’s 3rd Nations Cup appearance with a win on Tuesday against the South African in the return fixture at the SKD Sports Complex.
Morocco remains top of Group K with 6points from two matches while Liberia and South have one point each from the same number of matches. The next Nations Cup will be held in 2024 in Ivory Coast.
