Monrovia, Liberia – With Oyarzabal’s brilliant finish four minutes from time, Spain sealed a historic victory in Berlin and became the first team in history to win the European Championship four times.
After Real Sociedad’s Oyarzabal broke English hearts in the Three Lions’ second consecutive Euro final, substitute Cole Palmer had earlier cancelled out Nico Williams’ first-half goal.
The last-minute comeback attempt by Gareth Southgate’s team nearly brought the score equal, but Unai Simon and Dani Olmo saved the day for Spain, making England the first team to lose consecutive Euro championships.
Rodri was named EURO 2024 Player of the Tournament, while Lamine Yamal was honored with Young Player of EURO Tournament 2024. Spain’s Dani Olmo won EURO 2024 top Scorer award with 3 goal, and Nico Williams was named Player of the Match for Euro 2024 Final.
