Spartacus Make History with 100-Point Game in National Basketball League.

Paynesville City – After a resounding 111–38 victory over Barnersville Dragons on Friday at the SKD Gym, Spartacus made history by becoming the first Liberian team in recent memory to score 100 points or more in a National Basketball League game.

The crucial win is Spartacus’ second straight victory and their fourth of the season. Champions Barrolle, Highway Kings, Bushrod Bulls, and now Barnersville Dragons have all been defeated by Spartacus this season.

The LBA rookies are currently on track to earn a postseason berth following a difficult season debut. Interestingly, Wellay Barr is still the only female coach in the league. Young, bright talents Lasana Kromah and Tarch Reeve led their dominant performance. Both players took the court by storm, displaying their first division skills despite their age difference.

NPA Pythons defeated Invincible Eleven (IE) 44–68, their second loss in two games, continuing their nightmare in the first division.

The team led by coach Emmanuel Nimely began the season with a loss last week and has since suffered another heartbreaking setback after missing several games because of administrative problems. These back-to-back losses point to more serious issues for the club. It is anticipated that the “Yellow Boys” poor start of the season is widely attributed to unsolved administrative concerns.

At the SKD Gym, Mighty Barrolle defeated NPA Pythons by a slim margin of 63–59 on Thursday, giving them a much-needed lift following a rocky start to the 2025 League Season.

With this uplifting victory, Barrolle gave its supporters something to celebrate after suffering back-to-back losses and a disheartening loss to recently promoted Spartacus. The outcome is their second victory in five games. Even while they still have a chance to make the playoffs, the future is far from assured.

For those who supported Barrolle, the win had a melancholy twist. Two of the team’s international players, Joseph Chibuzo (Nigeria) and Omar Samba (Senegal), were officially discharged from the squad. Their exit makes room for the addition of two new Mali imports, Souleymane Diallo and Djibrill Barry.

The pair, who made their debut in Thursday’s victory, are expected to add to the team going ahead. Despite just managing two games this season a defeat to the LPRC Oilers and the most recent victory against the NPA Pythons head coach Asaad Fadel seems to be generating great momentum. Under his leadership, the club had positive signals despite his brief absence.

The club has also benefited greatly from the guidance of coach-player Jonathan Nagbe and other technical staff members throughout the early going of the season. Nagbe remains a vital figure in Barrolle’s campaign.
