SRC and Jeety Rubber gave Margibi County Kickball Team LRD$550k as Reward

Monrovia, Liberia – Margibi County kickball team received L$550K from Jeety Rubber LLC and its affiliate, Salala Rubber Corporation (SRC), for winning the most recent National County Sports Meet 2025/2026. The team had previously been offered the money if they won the county league’s kickball division. Twenty players each received L$25K, while the technical crew received an additional L$50K, for a total of L$550K.

The cash award comes after Jeety Rubber and SRC gave the Margibi County sports teams multiple rounds of financial support at the recently concluded county meet with the goal of raising spirits among the football and kickball teams.

The firms paid a total of L$1.1 million, with the kickball team taking home L$860,000, which included L$500,000 for winning the championship, $260,000 for winning the semifinals, and $100,000 from an earlier donation. Technical personnel received $50k, food products received $100k, and the football team received $100K from the original donation.

According to Mr. Upjit Singh Sachdeva, CEO and owner of Jeety Rubber and SRC said, the gesture is part of his company’s commitment to supporting sports development in Margibi County. He also promised to do more at the next county meet.

“We are delighted to make this contribution to the Margibi County kickball team,” Mr. Sachdeva, widely known as Jeety, said. “The girls’ win of the female component of the county league is something we are proud of, and we will do all we can to ensure they retain the title.”

O. Jay Morris, the superintendent of Margibi County, also spoke commending Mr. Jeety and his businesses for their dedication to the county’s sports teams. He described the funding as strong support for young people and sports development throughout the country.

Superintendent Morris stated that the girls’ motivation to bring the championship home was greatly aided by the firms’ support, which will also be a driving force for them to keep the title.

“We appreciate the help from Jeety Rubber and SRC, and we hope to play a bigger part in the planning for next year so the county can bring home the football and kickball titles,” Superintendent Morris continued.

Ruth Sonpon, the team captain who guided the group to the thrilling shootout triumph, stated that the players felt more confident going into the final game because of the financial backing.

Ms. Sonpon continued, “This money will help us prepare better for next season and inspire young girls in Margibi to take up kickball. When Mr. Jeety made that promise, it pushed us to fight harder because we knew someone believed in us.”

Ms. Sonpon conveyed gratitude for the companies’ support, characterizing it as crucial inspiration for the athletes and evidence of the community’s commitment to women’s sports.
