    Stakeholders climax One-day COVID-19 Transparency and Accountability Meeting

    About thirty stakeholders including Civil Society organizations, Community leaders Media practitioners, and health workers on Friday, August 19, ended a one-day meeting geared towards soliciting views on COVID-19 Transparency and Accountability.

    The one-day Stakeholders meeting was organized by Budgit Liberia under the theme Promoting Health Sector Transparency and Vaccine Equity through Stakeholders engagement.

    At the end of the gathering, Budgit Liberia program Officer Emmanuel Kollie noted that the vision of the institution is to bridge the information gap between the government and citizens.

    According to Kollie, holding stakeholders meetings with community leaders, Media practitioners, and Civil Society organizations amongst others to solicit their views on accountability in the health sector is one of the ways in bridging such a gap.

    “Budgit Liberia is a Civic organization that makes the Liberian budget and public data more understandable and accessible across literacy span”.

    He however urged the participants to used the gathering to make a positive impact in their respective communities.

    ” our primary goal is to use creative technology to intersect citizens engagement with institutional development to derive societal change in liberia he noted”

    Meanwhile speaking on behalf of the participants Morris Wleh Tee of OK FM, Francis Sieh of the redemption hospital and Lawrence Johnson of the Civil Society organizations in Brewervill City thanked Budgit Liberia for the exercise.

    “The gathering today has sharpen our understanding about what Accountability and Transparency should be in the Health Sector of our Country”.

    They however called on the institution to decentralize it’s activities beyond Montserrado County.
