State prosecutors reverse previous decision in Glora Musu Scott case

REQUESTING CRIMINAL COURT ”A” JUDGE TO REVOKE MOTION TO CHANGE FINAL RULING VANUE

Monrovia, Liberia – State prosecutors have written Criminal Court “A” Judge Roosevelt Willie to advise him of their decision to rescind their motion for a change of venue as the Gloria Musu Scott case goes to another level.

In the case involving former Chief Justice Gloria Scott and three members of her family, who have been charged with multiple crimes, including murder, the prosecution filed a motion for a change of venue on August 2, 2023.

They bemoaned the fact that a number of factors contributed to the filing of the petition, including public opinion and unidentified individuals analyzing the case’s merits and shortcomings.

The actions of the state prosecutors have infuriated Liberians, who claim that the case is political, and that the government is attempting to score political points against the main opposition Unity Party because the former chief judge is a prominent member of the UP.
