Monrovia, Liberia – On Monday, June 23, two young athletes with promise from the Africa New Stars Sports Academy (ANSSA) left Liberia via Roberts International Airport on their way to Accra, Ghana. Under the direction of Blooming Agency, they will go through rigorous football trials there.

Shaun Rasso Toteh and Douglas Dumba Sackor Jr., two up-and-coming talents, merited this chance after putting up impressive performances in the 2025 MTN MoMo U-17 Community Tournament. The goal of this grassroots project is to identify and develop the upcoming football potential in Liberia.

Douglas, who represented New Kru Town, and Shaun, from Brewerville Community, were among the best performers in the competition. International scouts were drawn to their remarkable abilities, self-control, and football acumen, making them stand out among their classmates as two of the most promising prospects.

Professionals from Blooming Agency, a reputable sports management and talent development company with strong ties to clubs around Africa and Europe, will coach and assess the pair in Accra.

Eric Sayee, a Montserrado County District 17 resident and ardent sports fan, paid for the trip, preliminary setup, full sporting gear, and other logistical assistance. In order to promote grassroots football and host young competitions, Mr. Sayee has continuously teamed up with other district sports fans.

In a statement issued Monday, ANSSA expressed delight in the young athletes’ achievements: “We are really proud of Shaun and Douglas. Their experience embodies ANSSA’s goal of identifying, nurturing, and showcasing Liberian talent to the world. As they embark on this new chapter, we wish them well and have faith that they will represent Liberia with distinction and honor.”

This accomplishment highlights the expanding influence of organized talent development programs and youth football academies in Liberia, particularly those that are community-driven and centered on long-term routes to professional football.

The football community in Liberia is eagerly awaiting news from Ghana, believing that Douglas and Shaun would take advantage of this chance to motivate the upcoming crop of talented players.
