Monrovia, Liberia – An educator and school administrator, J. William Sieh, has formally commended Heritage Newspaper Editor-In-Chief, Figo Mansaray for accepting an invitation to serve as Guest Speaker at the historic Vahun District Youth Homecoming Program scheduled for December 26, 2025, in Vahun, Lofa County.
In a statement released ahead of the event, Sieh, who is Principal of the Adventist SDA High School on Camp Johnson Road, described Mansaray’s acceptance as an act of maturity, humility, and selfless commitment to community service. Sieh noted that he was writing not only as a former supervisor, but also as a brother and mentor who has closely observed Mansaray’s personal and leadership growth over the years.
According to Sieh, the Vahun District Youth Homecoming Program is a landmark initiative, being the first of its kind in the district’s history and deliberately designed as a non-political gathering focused on youth development and unity. He emphasized that Mansaray’s willingness to participate in a non-partisan program sends a powerful message to young people that leadership is rooted in service, purpose, and collective progress rather than political ambition.
The educator further praised Mansaray’s explicit declaration of “absolutely no politics,” describing the stance as a clear demonstration of integrity and respect for the vision of the program’s organizers. Sieh said such clarity is essential to preserving the credibility of community initiatives and ensuring that youth-centered platforms remain spaces for inspiration, peacebuilding, and constructive engagement.
He added that the decision reflects responsible leadership and an understanding of the need to protect youth spaces from division and partisan influence.
Sieh recalled working closely with Mansaray in the past and said the invitation to speak at the homecoming validates the leadership potential he observed during their professional relationship. He expressed confidence that Mansaray’s address will resonate with the youth of Vahun District, encouraging unity, discipline, and a renewed sense of responsibility toward community development.
According to the statement, the homecoming program is expected to bring together young people from across the district, including students, professionals, and community stakeholders. Organizers say the event aims to strengthen social bonds, promote positive values, and inspire young people to take active roles in local development without political interference.
Sieh described Mansaray’s participation as a source of encouragement to both organizers and attendees, reinforcing trust between emerging leaders and the communities they serve. He noted that respected voices that prioritize service over self-interest are critical to shaping the character and aspirations of the younger generation.
The educator concluded by thanking Mansaray for answering what he described as a “call to service,” expressing hope that the contribution will leave a lasting impact on Vahun District. He added that the engagement has the potential to help shape a brighter, more unified future for the district by empowering youth with a shared sense of purpose and responsibility.
