The Senior Pastor and President of the Abundant Life International School of Ministries have blamed George Weah’s Government for playing lip service with education. Rev. Alphonso Korleh said the human resource capacity of Liberia is on fire, with a war for the merit system.
According to him, there are qualified people to occupy a major position within the education sector of the country but are being denied those positions no matter how many times they apply for those areas.
The Liberian clergy maintains that it is not possible for Liberia to rise if citizens do not elect qualified and committed people into positions of national leadership.
Rev. Korleh made the statement during the first graduation convocation of the Abundant Life International School of Ministries in Gardnersville, Shoe Factory when he presented certificates to nine persons in International Christian Leadership.
The Coordinator of people living with disabilities in Margibi County has alarmed the lack of access to education; health care and food, as a major challenge faced by disabled people in rural parts of the county.
Moses Kpalah told journalists recently in Kakata that disabled people particularly the visually impaired, as well as the deaf and dumb, are being denied access to better health care, education, and food by the national Government.
He termed their reported denial as unacceptable and a violation of their basic human rights.
According to him, the living condition of disabled people in Margibi is unbearable while reminding the national Government of its responsibilities to address their challenges.
The Coordinator of Margibi county’s disabled community is at the same calling on President George Weah to fulfill his promise of providing 23, thousand United States dollars to the disabled community in Margibi.
When contacted the Executive Mansion could not confirm or deny the information but promised to address the matter soon.
It can be recalled President George Weah in April of last year, while on his counties tour promised to provide 23 thousand US dollars to people living with disabilities in Margibi County.
