Monrovia, Liberia – Representative Yekeh Kolubah of Montserrado County District #10 has accused former CEO of Spoon Network Stanton Witherspoon of donating ten million Liberian dollars to president-elect Joseph Nyuma Boakai. Representative Kolubah issued a warning to the General Auditing Commission (GAC) and the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) to act swiftly.

The District 10 Lawmaker alleged that the donation made by the Spoon Network former CEO is intended to have a level playing Field in the Liberian Economy; adding that Witherspoon intention is to be the only importer of rice in the Country.

Representative Kolubah at the same time accused the management of Global Tracking and Maritime Solutions (GTMS) and the management of Mittal Steel Top Steel Manufacturer of taking president- elect son Joseph Boakai, Jr. to Freedom, Sierra Leone and London, England for an interest meeting.

He claimed that by sending the president-elect’s son on a private trip to Sierra Leone and the UK, both institutions were completely wrong. While it’s true that some of these organisations require protection from the next Administration, he added that, it is crucial to comprehend how these entities operated under the previous Administration.

Speaking during a press conference on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at his Capitol Hill office in Monrovia, Representative Kolubah claimed that Joseph Boakai, the incoming president, is surrounded by people who are going to deceive him.

Despite his criticism, the District 10 Lawmaker is yet to visit the site of the devastating petroleum tanker explosion that claimed the lives of over 70 Liberian citizens in Totota Lower Bong county. The tragic incident occurred on Tuesday, December 26, 2023.
