The Chief Executive Officer of the National Oil Company of Liberia (NOCAL), Atty. Saifuah Mai Gray is urging young people in the nation, particularly recent high school graduates, to choose a career path and carry out those plans for successful Leaders. Choosing a career path will help you become a successful Leader who will have an impact on Liberia and the rest of the world.
She said that choosing a successful career in the midst of difficulties will strengthen them even more and prepare them for challenges in the future; if one-fourth of the world worked to make their life successful, they could still work to significantly improve society and make the world a better place.
Attorney Gray urged the graduates to pursue higher education, cautioning them that receiving a secondary education is only the start of their educational journey and that they should keep a positive attitude in order to succeed. She also challenged the graduates to reach their full potential and improve the world for future generations.
The NOCAL leader advises the graduate to be self-assured, network, choose a role model, and continue to be active online in order to usher in the new era. At the same time, the CEO of Liberia’s national oil company warned young people not to let themselves be used to furthering the agendas and egos of avaricious politicians at the expense of the nation.
Young people should focus on the country’s development initiatives rather than destruction, says Atty. Gray, because violence has undermined the nation’s fundamental social foundation.
Young people should be the constructive change they wish to see because, as the NOCOL boss pointed out, the entire globe is involved.
She delivered a speech on September 29, 2022, during the combined Monrovia Consolidated School System graduation ceremony that included Pipeline Public School, G.W. Gibson High School, William V.S. Tubman High School, and D. Tweh Memorial High School.
