“Act Of Lawlessness” Citizens Describes Majority Bloc Speaker Koon’s Action on Rep. Kolubah.

Monrovia, Liberia – Citizens have referred to Majority Bloc Speaker Richard N. Koon’s order for LNP police and an unnamed man to drill in order to forcefully open the door of the Montserrado County District #10 Representative’s automobile as a “act of lawlessness,” a one day after Koon gave the order.

Speaking to our reporter in Monrovia on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, some residents stated that although Representative Yekeh Y. Kolubah’s decision to move his car into the Speaker’s designated spot was improper, the Speaker ought to have enforced the law himself, claiming that Liberia is a law-abiding nation.

Representative Koon’s behavior is illegal; he ought to have enforced the law himself. Elijah Sackie clarified, “Majority Bloc Speaker Koon should have acted and set an example because he is a leader and an instructor at the University of Liberia.”

The greatest thing Speaker Koon could have done, according to a guy who only called himself Emmanuel said, Representative Koon should have invited his colleague and engage in conversation. He also added that using violence is not the solution.

“What was the point of calling a tiotruck after he had the law in his hands? He ought to have done that to prevent violence. A leader should act like a leader at all times,” Emmanuel explained.

Reports, however, state that the car was parked in a space that is customarily designated for the Speaker. Montserrado County District 11 Representative, Majority Bloc Speaker Koon reportedly ordered its removed to create room for his personal car.

An unnamed person used a drill to force open the car door as LNP policemen watched. A police officer then got inside and tried to disconnect the brakes to make it easier to remove the car.

Representative Kolubah charged the Majority Bloc Speaker Koon of planning the break-in following the dramatic event.

“I will burst Richard Koon’s car if I go to the court and can’t get redress from the court to bring all my things that went missing from my car,” the Montserrado County District #10 representative told reporters.

Additionally, Representative Thomas Goshua informed reporters that he was on the same when Majority Bloc Speaker Koon directed Representative Kolubah’s car to be drilled. The car belongs to a lawmaker; Richard is only putting himself first among equals. Representative Goshua said, “What would have happened if he had called honorable Kolubah and had a conversation? I was standing right there when he gave the order.”

He said, “I am not here for such nonsense. You burst this car, open it, and push it anywhere you want to shove it. The second directive was to burst the camera if you were doing any video.

He claimed that Majority Bloc Speaker Koon’s behavior demonstrates that the capitol building was built under his direction. Representative Goshua went on to say that the Majority Bloc Speaker’s actions also demonstrate his greed and desire for power.
