Ambassador Yin Chengwu Meets with World Bank country manager in Liberia

Monrovia, Liberia – Ambassador Yin Chengwu and Georgia Wallen, the World Bank’s country manager in Liberia, had a cordial meeting in the on April 8, 2024, during which they discussed ways to further international cooperation.

Ambassador Yin outlined the tenets of China’s Africa policy, which include genuineness, tangible outcomes, goodwill, amity, and the Global Development Initiative. He also pledged to collaborate with Liberia, the World Bank, and other multilateral organizations to advance tripartite cooperation for Liberia’s development.

In her introduction to the World Bank-Liberia cooperation, Madam Wallen noted that China has long been a significant shareholder of the organization and expressed her desire to collaborate and conduct exchanges with the Chinese Embassy in Liberia.

The meeting of the two signifies possible development initiatives to Liberia. Since her presence to Liberia, Madam Wallen and the World Bank Group has continued many initiatives including report on Liberia Climate Change.
