A Civil society organization BudgIT- Liberia is calling on the government of Liberia through the Ministry of Health to collaborate with CSOs and other development partners to put strong Institutional measures in place to ensure Transparency and Accountability exist within the Health sector of the country.   President George Manneh Weah has issued a Proclamation calling for a Special Session of the 54th Legislature for a period of thirty (30) days beginning August 15, 2022, to September 13, 2022, to act upon matters of national emergency and concern. Water Aid Liberia through its Wessex Urban Wash program over the weekend dedicated and turn over four toilet facilities and donated tire soap, brooms, chloride, and buckets to the residents of the Borough of New Kru Town and Bong Mines bridge communities. The fight against Human Trafficking still remains a challenge to Liberia despite efforts made by the Government to curb the illegal act.Recently, the U.S Department of State honored a Liberian Judge and recognized the country for the interest shown in fighting trafficking.Amid these efforts, the risk of trafficking persons in and out of Liberia is still high and many believe more needs to be done.
