In progress to buttress government efforts to enhance Youth empowerment, Achievers Youth Club (AYC) dedicates its newly constructed Resource Center to children and youth in Duazon Lower Margibi County.

Remarking at the Dedication ceremony in Margibi County, the founder, and CEO of the AYC Club Dr. Emmanuel Ekyinabah said the institution was established to empower young people across Liberia.

Dr. Emmanuel Ekyinabah said “he observed several young people in the country lacking education as a result of financial difficulty. For Liberia to have a better society and economic growth there is a need to empower young people through education”.

The Achievers Youth Club began its operations in early August 2020 when a group of boys from the Transit Community started to play football on vacant land in the Transit neighborhood. Dr. Ekyinabah was asked by the players to buy a football and support the football team. Dr. Ekyinabah, in consultation with his wife Emma Ekyinabah, agreed to join the team on the condition this new team will not be only about sports but will include reading classes and other skills development.

”The achievers’ Youth Club was established on August 19, 2020, and the first meeting was held on August 25, 2020, with the Motto: Promoting Education and Character building through Sports. The parents and guardians of all the interested boys were contacted and a general meeting was held. The AYC reading Enrichment classes started on August 27, 2020. Pastor Sunny Sackie and the Teta Memorial Pentecostal Church provided classrooms for the reading Enrichment classes with Teacher Richard Zio being the lead teacher and later joined by a few volunteer peer educators. Subsequently, the girl’s Kickball team was established on September 25, 2020. Achievers Youth Club (AYC) is a registered charitable youth organization in Liberia comprising of boys & girls in the age range 10-18 yrs.

AYC Vision is “To facilitate and promote academic, skills, and talent competition among children 10-18yrs, to mobilize resources and promote access to quality education, strengthen & cultivate the sense of civic responsibility in children age through regular community service.
