Monrovia, Liberia – The issue with the Rollers of Mighty Barrolle persisted even after Coach Christian Mend was fired and Sekou Manubah was hired. The Rollers only achieved 8 points from 13 games during the first part of the 2024–2025 LFA First Division League.
Two of their games were victories, two were draws, and the rest were losses; they defeated Shaita FC 1-0 and Freeport FC 4-2. The Rollers have more than 30 negative goals and are at the bottom of the 14-team standings with 8 points.
Based on the number of goals let up in several games, the second-oldest soccer team in Liberia was a laughingstock during the first phase. They fell 6-3 to recently promoted Discoveries SA after losing 7-0 at home to Heaven Eleven on their debut.
On Saturday, December 14, 2024, they suffered another 4-1 loss to Global Pharma in their last phase one encounter, leaving them with a daunting 7 points from safety. This season will go down in history, after finishing the first phase with 12 points, another historic club, IE, was demoted to the relegation zone.
For the young players under coach Kelvin Swgbe to stay in the top division, they will need to put in twice as much work in the second phase. The former champion, LISCR FC, defeated them 4-1 in their last game of phase one.
Table leaders FC Fassell and Shaita FC drew 1-1 in the first phase’s last round of games, while Watanga, the reigning champions, suffered a heartbreaking 1-0 loss to newly promoted Blackman Warrior on Saturday.
In order to outline their prospects of winning the championship, Heaven Eleven defeated the LPRC Oilers 2-0 at the SKD practice ground on Sunday. Meanwhile, Freeport FC humiliated sloppy Paynesville FC 3-1 at Tusa Field, while Discoveries SA defeated Bea Mountain, another title contender, 1-0 at the same location.
