Monrovia, Liberia – President Joseph N. Boakia has started discussions with Dr. Layli Maparyan regarding the university’s goals and potential expansion days after she was appointed as its 16th President.

On Thursday, January 9, 2025, President Boakai met with the Acting Chairman and Chairman of the Board of Trustees at the Executive Mansion in Monrovia.

Speaking to media following the meeting, the newly assigned UL President committed to lead the institution with everything she has learnt over the previous forty years of her professional career.

According to Dr. Maparyan, her aim is to tackle the problem recognized by the Board and the outgoing President, and to make everyone feel apart of the university.
