Bong, Nimba Counties – Opposition political leader of the Unity Party, Amb. Joseph N. Boakai has formally unveiled his running mate in Bong and Nimba counties. The UP-campaign team headed by the former Vice President of Liberia and standard bearer of the UP and top officials of the party and collaborators all stormed both counties with a huge crowd.
After participating in community engagement in Montserrado County, the previous ruling Unity Party started its county tour on Thursday, July 6, 2023. According to Amb. Boakai, the purpose of the journey is to spread the Rescue mission message to people all around the nation. Amb. Boakai stated that the counties of Margibi, Bong, and Nimba are included in phase one of the tour.
The UP standard bearer promised that his government would be free of corruption. ”Those of you who believe that you entered politics under my leadership with the intention of stealing should somewhere else. Anybody caught in the act of corruption in my government will be prosecuted. We will audit the CDC government and we will continue to audit every public sector nationwide.”
If elected, VP Boakai, pledged to bolster the health and education sectors while also promising to plaw the road from Kokoya in Bong County to Grand Bassa.
Sen. Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence, chair of the Unity Party’s 2023 campaign team and senator for Grand Bassa County, reiterated her commitment to camping throughout the length and breadth of the nation to assure Amb. Joseph Nyumah Boakai’s win in the first round of the 2023 elections.
The team will visit three of Nimba’s populous settlements, starting with Ganta. While in Nimba, the team will also visit Karnplay, Tappia Saclepea, and other local towns and villages.
