The best of five series is staged at the SKD Basketball GYM in Paynesville due to the rainy season because the Sports Commission on Broad Street is open air and not favorable for the teams and spectators. In the female division on Sunday, September 18, Commissioners produced their second straight win over the Invincible Eleven female squad by 67-57 points to be left with just a win to retain the championship.

They won the first match by 83-70 points on September 16 and might be confirmed as champions on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, if they produced another win in their next match at 6 pm. In the late kick-off on Sunday, Bushrod Bulls came from 14 points down to beat Mighty Barrolle by 53-49 points in what was described as the best basketball game with the highest attendance in recent time.

The Bulls’ wonder kids, Carlos Marshall scored 12 points and created additional ten rebounds while his junior brother Fedolph Marshall scored 9 points and created six rebounds to score a combined total of 21points. Will Collingwood and Richlue Roberts were also at their very best as they snipped 21 points in total. Collingwood scored 11 points and created chances while Richlue Roberts scored 10 points and created ten rebounds.

Fombah Sirleaf also scored 7 points for the Bulls. The Bulls’ victory on Sunday, September 18, 2022, tied the score between them and the Rollers to one win each. The Rollers won the first match by 62-58 points on Friday, September 16, 2022. Their next match will be on Friday, September 23, 2022, at 7 pm.

In the male second division on Saturday, September 17, 2022, Barnesville Dragons defeated Visioneers by 55-49 points while Spartacus also got a 72-67 points victory over Vision Shooters.

Spartacus will meet Vision Shooters on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, in their next match at 5 pm while Barnesville Dragons and Visioneers will play their third match on Friday, September 23, 2022.

Meanwhile, Bushrod Bulls head Coach, Erick Cooper blamed poor officiating from match officials and complain about his players as reasons for their loss to Mighty Barrolle’s opening match last Friday, September 16, 2022.

” We played Barrolle in our first three matches of the season and win them in all. The players thought it was going to be as usual but the story changed. Again, the match officials gave Barrolle great technical assistance today to boost their chances of getting a victory, but I will come stronger in my next match, Coach Cooper mentioned”.

For his part, the Head Coach of Mighty Barrolle, Assad Fadel said they were the better side of the night and they deserved the victory.

” Bushrod Bulls coach, Erick Cooper has been doing great with the team since he took over but for today, we were the better side and we won, Assad Fadel said”.
