    CBL Launches New LRD Bank Notes Currency Campaign awareness in Gbarnga City-Bong county

    The Central Bank of Liberia has officially launched an awareness Campaign for a $48.74billion Liberian dollars new currency bank note in Gbarnga City-Bong county. The Launch brought together Officials of government, Civic society organizations, Representative from the United Nations, the European Union, the United States, African Union, National Traditional Council of Liberia, Religious Communities, Liberia Bankers Association, officials of the Liberia Marketing Association, Officials of the National Federation of Motorcycle and Tricycle Association of Liberia, Money Exchangers Union, Development Partners amongst other.

    Speaking at the occasion, the Central Bank of Liberia Governor J. Aloysius Tarlue Lauded the people of Bong county for the level of support shown to the CBL family interim of the implementation aspect of CBL activities across the country. The CBL boss expressed Joy and maintain that the printing of the new currency will bring great release to the people of Liberia as the printing of the new currency is on the right trajectory.

    Governor Aloysius Tarlue noted that due to political reasons, CBL will not print additional banknotes in 2023 as the bank is under obligations by the Liberian Legislature not to print additional banknotes in 2023, he stressed that the Central Bank is not interested in politics but to serve the country. The CBL Boss mentioned that the bank will print banknotes in 2022 and in 2024, he said Liberians should trust the CBL as the issues of inflection will be mitigated.

    The Governor at the same time called on customers in the country who took loans and have not paid to meet up with their financial obligations to do so to enable others to take loans from commercial banks across the country for the growth and development of the country.

    Speaking on behalf of the Bong county Legislative caucus Madam Moima Briggs Mensah extended gratitude to the Central Bank of Liberia family for selecting the county to officially launch the Central Bank of Liberia awareness Campaign for a $48.74billion Liberian dollars new currency banknote.

    The Bong County District #6 Lawmaker maintained that Bong county remains supportive of any initiative undertaken by the CBL once it is in the interest of the Liberian people.
