    China offers Liberia consolation after Citizens’ Deaths in Gas Tanker Explosion

    Monrovia, Liberia – The People’s Republic of China’s government and it’s people has sent sincere condolences to the Government of Liberia and families of those who lost their lives in the tanker explosion in Bong County.

    The regrettable event resulted in more than eighty fatalities and several injuries at hospitals in Margibi and Montserrado Counties as well as Totota, Bong County.

    In a statement released on Thursday, December 28, 2023, the Chinese Embassy expressed its deepest sympathies to the relatives of the victims and other impacted parties, as well as best wishes for a swift recovery to the injured.

    The Chinese Embassy has expressed optimism that the impacted individuals will soon be able to restore their lives after enduring such a trying period.

    it is recorded that about 130 kilometres (80 miles) from the capital, Monrovia, a fuel truck collided late on Tuesday, December 26,2023, night in Totota, Lower Bong Country. The explosion killed several people who had come to the site and injured many more.
