The Council of Patriots (COP), a pro-democracy activism grassroots movement(COP) has expressed deep concerned and dismayed over the wave of mysterious deaths of innocent Liberians within Monrovia and across the country. The group noted said the uncontrollable wave of mysterious death across the country demonstrates the government of Liberia’s inability and incapability of providing security for its citizens.

As a way of ensuring the perpetrator face the law, The group put up One hundred thousand Liberian Dollars ( LRD$100,000) cash reward for any solid tips that would lead to the murderer of Ms. Princess Cooper, to enable the government of Liberia and the national police speedy investigate the case.

Addressing a press conference Thursday, March 31, 2022, at the CoP Headquarters in Monrovia, the Acting Chairman of the CoP, Anthony S. Tengbeh said “COP believes that these unresolved cases of mysterious deaths bear testament to the fact that the Government of Liberia is incapable of providing security for Liberians and foreign residents within the republic.”

According to the pressure group, the recent mysterious death of a young and enterprising woman, Miss Princess Cooper, has claimed the attention of the CoP, which is devastated by the horrific manner in which a young and promising life was cut short.

” We convey our deepest condolences to the bereaved family and loved ones, and hereby call on the Liberia National Police (LNP) to speedily investigate and bring to justice those responsible for such a tragic loss of a young lady who was striving to make ends meet for herself and her family,” the Acting Chairman of the CoP said.
Meanwhile, the CoP is calling on the government of Liberia to make public the findings of previous alleged murder cases of the following deceased persons but not limited to, Florence Massaquoi, Odell Sherman, Melvin Earley, John Tubman, William R. Tolbert Jr, and Vivian Wright.

“The CoP demands speedy justice for Miss Princess Cooper and all others who met their untimely deaths in a questionable fashion. We have been in touch with the bereaved family and have linked them up with a strong lawyer to represent and guide them legally through this ordeal”, the group added.

The Council of Patriots is a local political pressure group that was established by talk show host Henry Pedro Costa and some opposition political parties to hold the government of Liberian feet to the fire and had led several protests including the June 7 protest under the auspices “Bring Back Our Money”.
