Kakata, Margibi County – The opposition Alternative National Congress (ANC) political leader, Mr. Alexander B. Cummings, has urged the recently elected and inducted party officials to remain inspired, lead in a new and improved way, and revitalize the party in order to win the 2029 elections.

Speaking at the ANC Convention in Kakata, Margibi County, over the weekend after being reelected as political leader, Mr. Cummings and other senior partisan officials thanked the convention committee for their efforts in making the event a success. Speaking after elected officials were sworn in, Mr. Cummings urged ANC members to stick with the party and understand that there is a lot of work ahead of them. Noting that, it demand sacrifice from everyone if the suffering of the Liberian people is to be eased.

According to Mr. Cummings, “Liberia is too wealthy for our people to continue living in poverty. We need leaders who can manage our economy. I want to thank all of my fellow partisans for your unwavering belief and commitment to the principles, mission, and vision of the ANC.

“It’s frustrating that many young university and college graduates are still unemployed,” Mr. Cummings said, adding that he is the ideal candidate to generate jobs, draw in direct foreign investment, and cultivate an economic climate that will allow Liberian firms to prosper.

According to him, “no one will voluntarily grant us state power; instead, we must earn it, strive for it, and make sacrifices. As such, all ANC members must be ready to put in a lot of effort to accomplish this.”

Noting that the party will rely on their ongoing support, he also expressed his sincere gratitude to the ANC diaspora members who journeyed from the United States to attend the convention.

The ANC’s 4th National Convention, with the subject “A Real Alternative for Liberia”, was chaired by Patrick Younwin Moore, who urged ANC members to reaffirm their commitment to the country’s and their party’s development.

“When we assume power, Moore promised, we will uphold our laws and Constitution to safeguard all Liberians and people living in Liberia.”
