First Black Man to Complete SOLO Transatlantic Flight in a Single-engine Aircraft Arrives in Liberia

Monrovia, Liberia – As the FIRST black man to successfully complete a solo transatlantic flight in a single-engine aircraft, Liberian pilot Abner Yonly has finally landed in Monrovia, marking a significant historical milestone.

Starting in Maryland, USA, Yonly set off on an incredible voyage that took him north across the North Atlantic, passing via Canada, Greenland, Iceland, the Faroe Islands, the United Kingdom, France, and Spain before arriving in Morocco and then Liberia.

On Thursday, November 23, 2023, Abner spoke with journalists at the James Springs Payne Airport and expressed his happiness at making a safe landing in Liberia after several weeks of flying.

Liberians celebrated Abner for a job well done puting Africa and Liberia on the map of success. According to them, Abner performance signifies that Africans and Liberians are conforming to the twenty-First century system, and the new world.
