    CYE crowns champions of the 2022 LKF-SEGAL sponsored league

    The Community Youth Empowerment (CYE) has officially been crowned as champions of the 2022 Liberia Kickball Federation-SEGAL sponsored league.

    The presentation was held on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at the famous Right to Play Sports pitch in Paynesville at the climax of the last match involving the champions and Gils of Aries. The match was won by Girls of Aries 1-0 home run.

    Champions CYE were given a trophy, medals, and one hundred thousand Liberian dollars as a reward for the championship while runners-up, Girls of Aries received fifty thousand Liberian dollars (50,000LD).

    Liberia Kickball Federation also presented fifty thousand Liberian dollars to the winner of league two, Blacktom Kickball club while runners-up, Destiny Kickball club took half of the amount.

    Speaking during the presentation, the CEO of the Security Expert Guard Agency of Liberia (SEGAL), Momo Tarnue Cyrus reaffirmed his institution’s commitment to living up to social corporate responsibility as a means of empowering young people through sports.

    The outgoing Lofa County Steering Committee Chairman said SEGAL as a Liberian-owned institution will continue to partner with the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Liberia Kickball Federation to ensure the National kickball league gets better for the next league season.

    “I can tell you for sure today that only ourselves can make this country better as Liberians. This country gained its independence in 1847 and is about time that we all stand up together to make it better, SEGAL boss said”.

    ” SEGAL will continue to empower not just women in sports but to empower young people in general who are lovers of sports. We are open to living up to our social corporate responsibility to empower the youthful generation and congratulations to every one of you for peaceful participation, Mr. Cyrus added”.

    Also speaking, the Assistant Sports Minister, James Toe appreciated the Liberia Kickball Federation for the level of alleviation of the sport across the country.

    The Youthful Minister also appreciated the CEO of SEGAL for his contributions to kickball in Liberia.

    “For and on behalf of Minister D. Zeogar Wilson and Deputy Sports Minister G. Andy Quamie, I want to take this time to appreciate the Liberia Kickball Federation for the level of transformation they have carried in improving this sport. We the Ministry of Youth and Sports, are proud of the leadership and stakeholders for their innovation, Assistant Minister Toe mentioned”.

    “Again, I want to take this time to appreciate the CEO of SEGAL, Momo Tarnue Cyrus for providing sponsorship for the league. Mr. Cyrus, you have written history for yourself and I know that this is not your stopping point. Lastly, I want to congratulate everyone on the successful ending of the league. As the previous speakers said, every one of you has won”, Minister Toe asserted.

    For his part, the President of Liberia Kickball Federation, Emmanuel Surprise Whea congratulated the winners, the leadership, and partners for a successful ending of the league.

    “Today, I am the happiest person on Earth right now, to see a successful league season, is worth recommendation. Many thanks to the Ministry of Youth and Spots our Chief sponsored SEGAL, Stakeholders, coaches, and our wonderful players for a peaceful league. This league could not have been successful if you were not cooperative with us throughout. Once again, congratulations to all the winners ranging from the Zeogar Wilson Cup, League two, and the 1st division champions, LKF President Emmanuel Surprise” Whea said.
