Monrovia, Liberia – A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Brussels Airlines and the Republic of Liberia was made public by the Office of Diaspora Affairs. This strategic partnership aims to offer substantial travel advantages and benefits to Liberians residing overseas who use the airline to travel to and from Liberia.
The official signing took place in Monrovia’s Executive Mansion at the Ministry of State’s Office of Diaspora Affairs. Mr. Erasmus T. Williams, Head of the Office of Diaspora Affairs, welcomed Madam Majolein Six, Country Manager for Brussels Airlines in Liberia, and her entourage to the occasion.
Mr. Williams underlined that the MOU is an important step toward lowering travel costs and resolving other key problems that members of the Diaspora face when using Brussels Airlines services.
“We are delighted to establish this formal partnership with Brussels Airlines,” said Mr. Williams. “This agreement underscores our dedication to building alliances that deliver real, practical advantages for Liberians abroad and support Liberia’s ongoing growth and development.”
Brussels Airlines’ continued dedication to the Liberian diaspora and the nation’s overall economic development was highlighted by Madam Majolein Six. “This MOU shows how committed Brussels Airlines is to the Liberian Diaspora community,” said Madam Six. “We are proud to support initiatives that promote Liberia as a desirable travel, business, and reunion destination while fortifying ties between Liberians both domestically and internationally.”
The MOU creates collaboration in a number of key areas, such as: Improved Access to Diaspora Travel: launch of focused incentive programs to lower the cost and improve the convenience of flying for members of the diaspora using Brussels Airlines.
Joint Promotion of Liberia: Coordinated marketing and promotional efforts to increase business, tourism, and investment trips to Liberia.
Support for Liberia Diaspora Annual Conference, Diaspora Annual Return, and Diaspora Events: Liberia is the destination due to cooperation on logistics, group travel plans, and facilitation for significant national Diaspora conferences, homecoming programs, and other events.
Creation of Tailored Benefits: Continued research and development of special travel options, deals, and benefits created especially for the Liberian Diaspora.
This collaboration represents a common goal of strengthening international ties for the Liberian people and is consistent with Brussels Airlines’ established service to Monrovia (Roberts International Airport, or ROB), which includes frequent flights linking Liberia to Europe and beyond.
