Monrovia, Liberia – Underlining the strength and importance of the Liberia-China relationship, Sara Beysolow Nyanti, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Liberia, spoke at the 9th Ministerial Conference of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) in Beijing.
Under the keen leadership of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., Foreign Minister Nyanti underlined Liberia’s constant dedication to the goals and values of FOCAC.
She pointed out that both Liberia and the People’s Republic of China still gain from their long-standing bilateral relationship constantly. considering Liberia’s dedication, Foreign Minister Nyanti pointed out that it formally embraced the “One-China Policy,” which still forms the pillar of Liberia’s foreign policy toward China about two decades ago. She confirmed that Liberia sticks to this strategy without wavers.
“Our relationship with China is anchored in a shared vision and goals, as articulated by our leaders, H.E. President Xi Jinping and H.E. President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. This vision includes building a shared future through ‘win-win cooperation,’ focusing on industrial capacity development, infrastructure connectivity, trade facilitation, green development, capacity building, healthcare, people-to-people exchanges, and peace and security.”
Foreign Minister Nyanti expressed Liberia’s readiness to deepen ties with China. She hailed the event, which has been crucial over the past 21 years in improving bilateral relations between African nations and China, thus encouraging economic cooperation, and so advancing South-South Cooperation on the international scene.

She acknowledged China’s support for public-private partnerships, which is essential for Liberia’s development.
