Former Liberian President Sirleaf, Expresses Surprise over America’s Failure to Elect Female President

AHEAD OF U.S. PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS

Monrovia, Liberia – Former Liberian president Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has expressed astonishment that a woman has not been elected to the presidency in the United States. Speaking ahead of the U.S. 2024 elections, the ex-Liberia president added that women should be given the chance to lead.

In a recent interview with MSNBC conducted during the 30/50 Summit in Abu Dhabi, Mrs. Sirleaf emphasized the US’s significant worldwide influence and its function as a leader in numerous international endeavors, but she also noted that women have not been given the room or chance to demonstrate their leadership potential at the highest level.

The former president made these remarks in answer to an MSNBC interview question. The question of whether Madam Sirleaf was surprised that the nation had not yet chosen a female president.

Madam Sirleaf asserts that the United States can learn from the examples offered by the few but outstanding women leaders across the globe.
