Health authorities claim Liberia is free of EBOLA

AMIST REPORTS THAT THE DISEASE HAS RESURFACED IN LIBERIA

Sinoe County -According to reports from Sinoe County, the deadly EBOLA disease has been detected there. Sinoe County lies in the southeast of Liberia and borders Cote d’Ivore, a French-speaking nation. The report over the weekend claimed the attention of health authorities.

There have been numerous rumors that the virus has re-entered the nation, endangering the lives of Liberians. Liberia is one of many countries that suffered from the deadly EBOLA virus disease. It is reported that the virus struck Liberia on March 30, 2014. Liberia confirmed its first two cases of the EBOLA disease Foya, Lofa County.

Speaking to the rumour, the health minister of Liberia, Dr. Wilhelmina Jallah dismissed claims that the virus is in the country. According to the health experts, the Ebola outbreak rumors are false.

According to Health Minister Dr. Wilhelmina Jallah, the information is merely meant to spread panic. She called on Liberians and those living in Liberia to go about their regular business, reiterating that the nation’s surveillance system is effective at spotting any kind of outbreak.
