Capitol Hill, Monrovia – The House of Representatives has unanimously decided to send the Draft National Budget for Fiscal Year 2026 to the Committee on Ways, Means, and Finance for in-depth examination and review.
The review process will be overseen by the Committee, which is led by Representative P. Mike Jury of Maryland County Electoral District #1., Hon. Dorwohn T. Gleekia, Co-Chair for Revenue, and Hon. Atty. Michael Thomas, Co-Chair for Expenditure.
A detailed schedule for revenue and expenditure hearings is anticipated to be released in the next few days by the Committee and the Legislative Budget Office (LBO).
Line ministries, agencies, and governmental entities will have the chance to defend their financial allotments and lay out their implementation priorities for the next fiscal year during these hearings.
The recommendation initiates the Legislature’s constitutionally mandated budget inspection procedure to guarantee accountability, openness, and alignment of national priorities with the Government’s ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development.
