Monrovia, Liberia – Mayor of Monrovia City Jefferson Koijee has threatened government officials, including Minister of Transport Samuel Wulue, Minister of Justice Musa Dean, and Minister of Foreign Affairs, warning them to be careful with their jobs.
Mayor Koijee warned the public servants to stop practicing double standards or they will be escorted out. He asserted that it is impossible to work for one government and at the same time work for the opposing.
At a press conference held on Monday, May 29, 2023, at the CDC Party Headquarters in Congo Town, Major Koijee stated that it is now time for the general populace to notice the beneficial effects of public servants in their various communities.
According to him, there is a need for those who have the opportunity to serve in government to help others who do not; noting, ”we need to maintain the hope of our people.”
Ahead of the 2023 elections, there has been series of political internal fights amongst political parties in Liberia. It first started with the Liberty Party, Collaborating Political Party and the Coalition for Democratic Change. The CDC fight is seen to be the longest from the LPDP to NPP and Congress for Democratic Change.
