Ahead of Runoff Election, GDM Still Undecided

Congo Town, Montserrado County – Ahead of the runoff election, the Grass Roots Development Movement is yet to choose which political party to support. GDM standard bearer Edward W. Appleton stated in a new conference Tuesday, October 24, 2023, in Monrovia that their choice to support any political party needs to be based on a comprehensive grasp of what Liberians want.

He promised full participation in the Democratic dispensation of the runoff election. The Grassroots Development Movement according to Appleton, intends to work hard to change the paradigm, which will bring about generational change in the not-too-distant future.

Appleton stated that with the enthusiasm shown by the Liberian people in the first round of the 2023 election in electing their leaders, it demonstrates clearly that the Liberian people believe in democracy and good governance.

According to the GDM Political Leader, while the purportedly major parties were searching for large audiences and packing stadiums, they were conversing with individuals one-on-one in rural Liberia and conveying our messages, which were well-received.

”We campaigned Jehovah’s Witness style, and although we are not in the top two spots, we are in a position to play a key role in the runoff election.”

“I am not a Ghost and the Grassroots Development Movement was not setup to disrupt the 2023 presidential and legislative electoral process, as calmed by some Liberians.”

The Grassroots Development Movement political leader, however, acknowledged that he has been engaged by executive members of the Unity Party and the CDC for their support ahead of the 2023 presidential election runoff.

”Though we have been engaged by both parties, the executive committee members will discuss and, at a later time, we will inform the Liberian people about the come of our decision; and our decision will be in the interst of the Liberan people.”
