ADMIST POOR SALARIES RECEIVE BY PROFESSIONAL JOURNALIST IN LIBERIA

Monrovia, Liberia – Charles Gibson, the minister of labor of Liberia has promised to force those who owe media institutions money to pay up and claims that hundreds of Liberian journalists make less than the minimum wage.

Cllr. Charles Gibson, the minister of labor, has committed to take legal action against those who owe media organizations in order for Liberian journalists to receive their just compensation. According to Cllr. Gibson, it is unfair that media professionals in Liberia make less money than the minimum wage as a result of some institutions’ unwillingness to settle debts owing to local media companies.

The labor minister revealed that negotiations to settle the issue amicably are currently taking place and would include Press Union of Liberia executives. He was speaking at the Ministry of Information Culture Affairs and Tourism in Monrovia.
