Paynesville, Montserrado County – The Liberia Taekwondo Federation year-end youth championship culminated on December 30, 2023, at the Master Russian Martial Arts and Fitness Academy in Paynesville, with several youthful martial artists taking home gold medals in numerous categories.
The competition is one of the several that the organisation has created to aid in preparing young athletes for the future. Light Weight, Feather Weight, Barton Weight, Flat Weight, Middle Weight, Heavy Weight, and Female Category are the medal categories.
Emmanuel Dee, Sediki Konneh, Barbes Darwolu, Hannah Togba, Elijah Sayee, Favour Kermue, and Mohammed Kromah were the recipients of the gold medals. Mamajah Jalloh, Edwin Gaye, Mapquis Blama, Varmuyan Kromah, Victoria Manyanga, George Chechee, and Abubakar Jalloh were also the recipients of the silver medal.
Siddharth Kumar, Patrick Macaulay, Sekou Kamara, Joseph Koigblee, Diamond Pratt, and Dorcas Johnson were the recipients of the bronze medal.
The sport has significantly improved in Liberia since Master Junior Peewee Russian was elected President of the Liberia Taekwondo Federation.
