Liberian Senate request more information from MFDF and financial authorities before new budget year.

The Plenary of the Liberian Senate has mandated authorities of the Ministry of Finance to provide information on all debts contracted by the Weah government beginning from January 23, 2018 to present. The decision of the senate plenary is triggered by a motion from Grand Bassa County Senator Jonathan Kaipay on a communication written to that that august body by Montserrado County Senator Abraham Darius Dillon.

The senate plenary wants the financial authorities to appear before its committees on ways, means and Finance and Public Account and Expenditure to also provide information on debts inherited from the previous administration. Senator Dillon in a communication to the senate mentioned that information received from the Finance Ministry will better inform their decisions as they gear on deliberating on the National Budget.
