Monrovia, Liberia – Numerous drivers in the Northern County of Liberia are finding it difficult to reach their destination. The road to Lofa have seen many cars including trucks stuck in the mud due to a poor road network.
According to our correspondent in the county, residents are becoming concerned about the snail paste used in the Chinese company CHICO’s continuing road reconstruction projects.
In the first 100 days of his administration, President Joseph N. Boakai assured the people of Liberia that no vehicle would be stuck in the mud on any of the major road.
But according to reports coming from the President’s own county, Mr. Boakai is not fulfilling the pledge he made to Liberians both during and after the campaign.
Transportation of goods to and from the Lofa is facing a significant issue due to the terrible state of the corridor between Luyeama and Voijoma City, which is not yet touched by the restoration, according to our correspondent.
Residents of the county and road users want the rehabilitation of the Lofa Road and other important national roads accelerated because the impending rainy season could make the situation worse.
