LICFO Condemns Inauguration of Lai Ching-te as President of Taiwan

Monrovia, Liberia – The Liberia-China Friendship Organization (LICFO) has condemn the inauguration of Lai Ching-te on May 20, 2024, as President of Taiwan, the renegade province of the People’s Republic of China (PRC).

LICFO stressed that, the public should be aware that there is only one China, that Taiwan is a part of, and that the People’s Republic of China’s government is the only one with legal authority over the entirety of China. They added that, the United Nations General Assembly Resolution 2758, which reiterates the One China Principle, represents the global consensus as well.

LICFO is urging Taiwan to collaborate with the Chinese mainland and acknowledge the validity of the One China Principle.

The friendship group further demands that individuals who have a propensity to meddle in internal issues of China cease their efforts in order to preserve peace in that region of Asia, since China regards Taiwan as a province that broke away.

Meanwhile, LICFO expresse gratitude to Joseph N. Boakai, the president of Liberia, and his administration for maintaining the cordial ties that formerly existed between the two nations and their people as well as for their unwavering support of the One-China Principle.
